Mike Phillips was invited to be a member of the Nature Needs Half Advisory Committee, which steers an initiative to protect 50% of the planet by 2030. The committee is composed of diverse, globally-focused conservationists committed to ending the biodiversity crisis by transforming how society thinks about nature.
According to the Nature Needs Half website, “We can stop the sixth mass extinction if we protect approximately 50% of each the 846 ecoregions that provide habitat for all of Earth’s biodiversity. That means finding leaders and organizations around the world willing to align existing efforts around protecting and interconnecting nature in their region.”
Mike is honored to be recognized as a leader committed to protecting imperiled species and their habitats and creating a sustainable relationship between people and nature.
